How To Make Your Own Baby Yoda Cookies

While dutifully practicing your social distancing, we have to get a little creative with activities indoors.  Bring your love of Baby Yoda into the kitchen with this simple and creative recipe.

you’ll need:

  • Yoda cookie cutter (Check out Amazon for some cool Starwars cutters)
  • brown sugar dough
black icing
  • white icing
 Pink Starburst candies

ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 Tablespoon matcha (green tea powder)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  •
1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, matcha, and salt. Set aside.
Step 2: In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter and the sugar. Add the egg and vanilla.
Step 3: Add the flour mixture until combined. When it pulls away from the sides of the bowl, the dough is ready.
Step 4: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerate until you are ready to use.
Step 5: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep baking sheets with parchment or silpats.
Step 6: Roll out the dough and use the cookie cutter to cut out shapes.

Step 7: Place the cookies on the prepped cookie sheets. With a knife, cut 1/8-inch off the top of the head to make more flat. Lower the ears to be perpendicular to the head. Take a small ball of dough and add a nose.

Step 8: Cut 1/4-inch strips of brown sugar dough to create the scarf.

Step 9: Bake for 10 minutes, let cool on a wire rack.
Step 10: Unwrap Starburst and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 15 seconds.

Step 11: Use kitchen shears to cut triangle shapes. Stretch to fit, then use white icing to place onto the ears.

Step 12: Use a #7 tip and black icing to create the large eyes. With a #5 tip, use white icing to create the pupil.

Step 13: Once the icing is dry, the cookies are ready to serve.
